What’s Going On?

Zimmerman Reed LLP is investigating potential claims arising from the fire at the Lineage Logistics cold storage facility on South Los Palos Street in Boyle Heights, which burned for eight days beginning June 17, 2026. The fire sent a thick plume of smoke across Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, and much of central Los Angeles.

A shelter-in-place order was issued for the area south of the 101 Freeway to Washington Boulevard, between Soto Street and Indiana Street—primarily affecting ZIP codes 90033 and 90023—and residents were told to close their windows, turn off air conditioning, and stay indoors. Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass each declared a state of emergency.

If you live or work in or near this area and were placed under the shelter-in-place order, experienced health symptoms from the smoke, had to leave your home, lost wages, suffered property damage, or incurred other losses connected to the fire, you may be entitled to compensation.
